The venue? A mere $ 1 billion dollar leisure development.
It’s estimated that China will be investing twice the amount on infrastructure for the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 than for the London 2012 games – payback is their aspiration to top the medal table. Is this investment because the Chinese are playing ‘catch-up’, or intend to create an unforgettable games. If it’s the latter, then London must not disappoint.
