It has taken a while, but my presentation for this year’s IHRSA Conference in Lisbon is almost finished. Ensuring the key message gets across is challenging at the best of times, but it becomes harder when the audience comprises delegates drawn from countries as disparate as Russia, Greece and Norway. Just last week, a Russian fitness club operator who is translating the conference brochure emailed to ask what I meant by; ‘…recognise the difference between a deep cause and a marketing campaign’. There may not even be a word that accurately translates from English. This is why I have developed a highly visual PowerPoint presentation style that allows me to tell a story using pictures.
