Halfords bike sales power ahead from Beijing bounce

Following Team GB’s cycling success in Beijing when they won a total of 14 Olympic medals, bike sales at Halfords has been impressive. The company now sells in excess of one million bikes a year and has just announced like-for-like sales growth for the period ending March 2009. This means the company now sells one in every three bikes sold in the UK.

Less successful has been Bikehut and Cycle Republic, their stand-alone bike stores which will now be re-branded to a full product store, or closed.
