Yet another fire has affected a Brighton health club. This time at the Esporta club in East Sussex. Several fire fighters spent hours tackling the outbreak which destroyed a large storage area this Tuesday. The fire almost spread to the polythene tennis bubble, but was contained as fire fighters were able to use water from the nearby outdoor pool. An East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: ‘We managed to save the bubble covering the tennis courts – but only just’.
This club has previously suffered fire damage which was far more extensive. The good news is there were no casualties and the club has been able to trade normally. I spoke to a staff member at the club and they have confirmed that the fire was started deliberately.
