This weekend (September 29th 2012), David Lloyd Leisure bring its health and fitness expertise to the high street with the opening of its first ‘micro club‘ in Putney, South west London. These new ‘studios’ offer a range of classes, personal training and physiotherapy.
This is an interesting expansion of David Lloyd Leisure given that opportunities to extend their signature full-service health and racquets clubs across the UK are severely restricted by planning constraints, given their size. Please do leave a comment if you have seen the studio.
Scott Lloyd who is David Lloyd Leisure’s Chief Executive said: “The creation of our new studio training concept provides a complementary alternative to the traditional gym and brings an exciting new offer to the high street. We are excited by the potential for this concept, which fills a gap in the market for a convenient, local fitness solution, easily fitted around our customers’ other day to day commitments and time pressures.”
This is what their Facebook page has to say:
‘David Lloyd Studio is an exciting new concept in health and fitness on the high street, offering personal training, small group exercise classes, weight management courses and outdoor running clubs – with no membership required.’
