With 1,400 days still to go before the opening of the London 2012 Olympic Games, adidas has already kicked off its legacy programme. This month it launched a series of ‘adiZones’ across five London boroughs.
The activity zones form part of adidas’s £100million investment in the Games. The adiZones are free for the community to use and incorporate basketball, football and tennis areas, a climbing wall, an outdoor gym and an open area to encourage dance, aerobics and gymnastics.
The zones tap perfectly into the growing trend for unstructured outdoor exercise. As well as equipment, adidas is funding a number of adiZone activators who are on hand to provide instruction and to act as talent scouts to sign-post young people into sports clubs.
